Write for us
United Theatre Review welcomes clear, original proposals that help readers notice how theatre works. We are interested in considered writing about plays, performance, stagecraft, theatre history and the experience of being an audience member.
What to propose
Send a focused idea with a working title, a short summary of the central point and a note about why it suits United Theatre Review. Strong proposals have a distinct subject, a clear reader in mind and a point more specific than a general opinion about theatre. Explain any relevant sources or firsthand access you would need; do not claim access you do not have.
What makes a good piece
We value careful observation, accurate context, readable prose and a willingness to distinguish evidence from interpretation. Articles should give readers something concrete to notice or consider without pretending there is one correct response to a performance. Please disclose relevant interests or relationships and do not submit work copied from elsewhere.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your pitch in the message. A proposal is not a commission, and we cannot promise a response time or publication.
The stage rewards a closer look
Theatre is made in the details: a shift in space, a held pause, a light that changes what we notice.
